Lois Scoops Learner of the Year at the Apprenticeship Awards and Hangar HPC was nominated for Employer of the Year.

Following a lovely evening out at the Apprenticeship Awards at Cardiff Marriott hotel, we were thrilled that our young Apprentice Lois won the Learner of the Year awards.

At Hangar we’re really passionate about helping young people and giving them all the chances we can.  Lois came to us just after we were allowed to reopen following the Pandemic lockdown – on a Kickstart program.  She has thrived and is now training to become a Personal Trainer.

We support our youngsters with developing their business including a logo, help with website, social media and support them through their qualifications. We allow them to complete coursework whilst on a paid shift, and do our best to provide employment once they qualify.

Cole for example, came to us on work experience via his University. We kept him on and paid for his PT qualifications, created his website and provided his business cards. And he has regular coaching work with us as well as training his own clients.  His career is thriving.

Sometimes we can fund their qualifications depending on the circumstances.  We provide a structured Apprenticeship work-experience program and require several areas of work in addition to that formally required by their course.

We’re delighted that we’ve now developed over 10 learners into their Personal Training careers.  Most of them are still with us full-time.
